GMAT Exam Set to Change ID Procedure

GMAT is set to launch a new process for identifying test takers, to stop multiple score reports being produced and people having others take their exam. This is to make sure that the GMAT remains a fair reflection of a student’s ability.

Instead of having their fingerprint scanned all students who wish to take the GMAT will have their palm scanned. This will provide a unique image based on the student’s veins on their palm, whilst being less intrusive than the current fingerprint scan. Palm scans have been found to be 99.99% accurate and more secure as the veins on our hands stay the same despite factors such as age and illness.

Expect for this system to be launched throughout by early 2009. So if you’re planning to take your GMAT in 2009 be aware that you will be identified using this new system.
