Course Structure

You can choose your own course start date and we will ship you your Lecture Notes and provide access to your online account. You will begin the course by taking a USMLE Step 1 Diagnostic Test, which will determine your strengths and weaknesses and allow you to tailor your study.

You will then use your online lectures and lecture notes to learn vital content from Kaplan Medical faculty. Throughout the course you will take 9 assessment tests on different subjects to measure your performance – this will enable you to determine the areas you need to focus on.

You will also be able to take a full-length simulated online exam enabling you to test yourself in exam-like conditions.

USMLE Step 1 Overview

The USMLE Step 1 exam emphasizes mechanisms of health, disease and modes of therapy, and tests basic science principles of anatomy, behavioral science, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, physiology, and interdisciplinary areas such as genetics, immunology, and nutrition.

The test consists of 332 questions over 8 hours of testing (including 1 hour of break time). Questions are divided into 7 blocks of around 48 completely random questions. Most question items assess basic medical science concepts in the form of clinical vignettes.
