Required by 6 top Universities and Veterinary Schools in the UK, the BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) is an admissions exam designed to test your scientific knowledge and application, your mathematical skills and also your writing skills.
Achieving a high score on the BMAT is important in ensuring that you submit the strongest possible UCAS application.
Preparation for the BMAT should be threefold:
Content Review: ensure that you have revised your GCSE level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths content as this will be tested on the BMAT.
Techniques and Strategies for Test Day: The BMAT is a 2 hour test, in which you will be tested in several different ways, and expected to demonstrate numerous different skills. Having techniques and strategies in place for when you sit down to the test is invaluable - this will ensure that you keep calm and focussed throughout the test.
Test-like Practice Questions: When practicing for the BMAT, ensure that the materials you are using are realistic. Preparing with questions and materials that are not test-like will not help you in your preparation for BMAT Test Day.
